NSVU extends helping hand to complete construction of unfinished house

The Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) made its funds available to complete the construction of an unfinished house of late Fleet Chief Petty Officer DMR Dissanayake, passed away during active service. The President of NSVU, Mrs Mala Lamahewa handed over the completed house to the family members of the senior sailor on 23rd December 2024.

According to an idea mooted by the President of NSVU, the project was carried out as part of yet another segment of NSVU’s assistance to complete unfinished houses of naval personnel. The objective was to enhance the living standards of naval personnel and their families. Accordingly, the unfinished house of late Fleet Chief Petty Officer DMR Dissanayake was completed utilizing Rs. 1,233,165.16.

The Seva Vanitha Unit has allocated Rs. 11,490,843.47 to complete 12 semi-constructed houses, aiming to enhance the living standards of naval personnel and their families. With repairs now in their final stages, arrangements are underway to hand over these houses to the respective naval personnel and their families in the near future.

The Commanding Officer Naval Deployment Maho, Commander (INF), Pradeep Gunathilake, Coordinating Officer, Secretary and staff of NSVU were also present on this occasion.
