Seva Vanitha Unit joins hands with ‘Good Neighbours’ to conduct dental clinic for school children

In line with an initiative by the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Mala Lamahewa, the Navy's Dental Directorate conducted a dental clinic on 02nd December 2024. Organized by the NSVU, the clinic provided essential dental care to the students of Parakrama Vidyalaya, Thalahitiyagoda, Matara. The Non-Governmental Organization ‘Good Neighbours’ supported the event by supplying the necessary medicines and equipment.

Facilitated by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Good Neighbours donated medicine and dental equipment valued at Rs. 3,252,474 to the Navy Dental Directorate. The partnership was formalized with a memorandum of understanding signed on 21st October 2024 between Good Neighbours and Commodore Nandani Wijedoru, Director of Navy Dental Services at the Navy Headquarters.

As part of the donation of medicine and equipment by ‘Good Neighbours,’ the dental clinic was conducted to benefit the school children. Simultaneously, the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) donated books to the students of Parakrama Vidyalaya.

Surgeon Captain Indira Dharmapriya as well as the Secretary and staff of NSVU were also present on the occasion.
