NSVU comes forward to improve facilities of ‘Sahana Sevana’ in Seruwawila

The President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs Mala Lamahewa on 26th March 2024 laid the foundation stone for expansion of several sanitary facilities at ‘Sahana Sevana’ Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities in Seruwawila.

Reflecting a commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities at this Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Centre, NSVU came forward to undertake this worthy cause, with financial support extended by the mother of late Leading Seaman MMBA Ariyawansha. The construction work will be carried out utilizing the able manpower of the Sri Lanka Navy. The project will involve the construction of new toilets and repairs to the roof of the existing bathroom.

The Chief Incumbent of Seruwawila Viharaya Ven. Muditha Thera, Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva, Director Naval Dental Services, Commodore Nandani Wijedoru, Naval Officer in Charge (Trincomalee-South), Commodore Rohan Dissanayake, Commanding Officer SLNS Lankapatuna, Commander Priyantha Athukorala as well as Coordinating Officer, Secretary and staff of NSVU were also present on this occasion.
