NSVU extends helping hand to complete construction of unfinished house

The Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) made its funds available to complete the construction of an unfinished house of Leading Engineering Mechanic (CE) RM Bandara. The President of NSVU, Mrs Mala Lamahewa handed over the completed house to the sailor on 27th March 2024.

According to an idea mooted by the President of NSVU, a project to complete an unfinished house was initiated across all naval commands in 2023. The objective was to enhance the living standards of naval personnel and their families. To support this initiative, the Seva Vanita Fund will allocate Rs. 6,000,000.00 to all naval commands. As part of this effort, a partially constructed house, due to financial constraints or in precarious conditions due to various weather elements, was identified from each naval command. In addition, the house was deemed capable of completion at a cost of less than one million rupees.

Accordingly, the unfinished house of Leading Engineering Mechanic (CE) RM Bandara, completed utilizing Rs. 1,000,000.00, provided by the NSVU, was handed over to the sailor, demonstrating its commitment to serving the naval community.

The Coordinating Officer, Secretary and staff of NSVU were also present on this occasion.
