The Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) conducted a specialised Yoga and Emotional Intelligence Management Programme on 2 September 2026 at the SLNS Gemunu Sports Complex, reinforcing its commitment to the holistic welfare of naval families.
The initiative, held under the patronage of NSVU President Mrs. Kaushalya Opatha Fernando, brought together spouses of officers, lady officers and women sailors for a day of physical and mental wellness training.
Leading the session was Yoga Acharini and Kalakeerthi awardee Mrs. Anoja Weerasinghe, a renowned instructor in yoga and mindfulness practices. Participants received practical instruction in yogic postures, breathing techniques, stress-reduction methods, and emotional intelligence frameworks, all designed to enhance resilience and personal development.
The event forms part of a broader series of welfare initiatives by the NSVU, which consistently seeks to equip its community with tools for balanced living in demanding service environments.
