MRS. KAUSHALYA OPATHA FERNANDO ASSUMES DUTIES AS 19TH PRESIDENT OF NAVY SEVA VANITHA UNIT
Mrs. Kaushalya Opatha Fernando assumed duties as the 19th President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) during a formal ceremony held at the NSVU Office, Navy Headquarters, on 02 July 2026.
The proceedings commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, followed by the formal assumption of duties. Subsequently, the Coordinating Officer of NSVU, Commander Ananda Abeywickrama, briefed the NSVU President on the Unit's ongoing projects and initiatives.
Addressing the NSVU members at the auditorium, the NSVU President outlined her vision and priorities for the organization. She emphasized commitment to further enhancing the welfare of naval families through meaningful initiatives while continuing the Unit's longstanding tradition of service.
The occasion was attended by Executive Committee members of the NSVU, Director Naval Dental Services, Surgeon Commodore Nayana Wijedoru, lady officers, NSUV staff and invited guests.
