NAVY SEVA VANITHA UNIT BRINGS COMFORT AND CHEER TO PATIENTS AT NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH

The Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), under the guidance of President NSVU, Mrs. Anusha Banagoda, conducted a special programme at the National Institute of Mental Health in Mulleriyawa on 24 Jun 26. The event was graced by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.

Designed to enhance the emotional and psychological wellbeing of the institute’s patients, the initiative reflected the NSVU’s continued commitment to community outreach and compassionate care.

A highlight of the programme was a lively entertainment segment performed by Navy musicians, whose melodies filled the ward with warmth and brought joy to the patients, creating a truly memorable and uplifting atmosphere. In addition to the musical performances, several arrangements were made adding a personal touch of care to the day’s proceedings.

The programme was well-received by the hospital administration and staff. The event was attended by the Commander Western Naval Area, members of NSVU Executive Committee and Deputy Director of the National Institute of Mental Health.
