NAVAL PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM REVIEWED TO RAISE QUALITY AND LEARNING STANDARDS

Going by the guidance of Mrs. Anusha Banagoda, the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), a comprehensive review and revision of the Naval Preschool syllabus was conducted on 20 and 21 Jun 26 at SLNS Gemunu, Welisara.

The initiative aimed to refine the existing preschool curriculum to ensure full alignment with national education standards and contemporary early childhood development principles. The programme underscores the NSVU’s commitment to enhancing the quality, consistency and effectiveness of early childhood education across all its preschools.

The two-day session brought together key educational experts from the National Institute of Education (NIE) and the Western Province Preschool Unit, who imparted essential knowledge and best practices in early childhood curriculum development. Meanwhile, the sessions drew participation of supervising officers and teachers representing every NSVU Preschool.

Leveraging the collective expertise and professional insights of all participants, the programme successfully delivered an updated syllabus, reaffirming the NSVU’s steadfast dedication to providing high-standard early childhood education for the children of Sri Lanka Navy personnel.
