The President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Anusha Banagoda, undertook official visits to NSVU welfare facilities at SLNS Tissa and SLNS Barana on 23 and 25 May 26, reviewing ongoing welfare projects and engaging with NSVU Staff.
On 23 May, the NSVU President arrived at SLNS Tissa, in the Eastern Naval Command. During the visit, she inspected a series of welfare facilities established for the benefit of naval personnel and their families. The tour included the Welfare Shop, Abans Showroom, Beauty Salon, IT Cell, Gift Shop, Book Shop, and the Trinco Delight Cafeteria. In addition, she conducted an assessment of the Naval Preschool at SLNS Tissa as well.
During the inspection, the NSVU President acknowledged the dedication and professionalism of the staff members managing these initiatives and convened a discussion focused on future improvements, with emphasis on enhancing welfare services and expanding support programmes.
The visit to SLNS Tissa was attended by Mrs. Rajika Warnakulasooriya, spouse of the Commander Eastern Naval Area, the Commanding Officer SLNS Tissa, supervising officers of NSVU welfare projects and the staff of the Naval Preschool.
On 25 May, she proceeded to SLNS Barana, in the Northwestern Naval Command where she engaged with a group of women sailors. The interaction further included an open exchange of views regarding their welfare requirements.
The session was attended by the Supervising Officer of the NSVU Preschool, women sailors of SLNS Barana and NSVU staff members.
