WOMEN FROM NAVAL FAMILIES BENEFIT FROM NSVU’S GENEROUS CONSULTATION DRIVE

In a meaningful celebration of the International Women’s Day 2026, the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) launched the fifth session of its wellness programmes at SLNS Shilpa on 09 May 26.

Under the able guidance of NSVU President, Mrs. Anusha Banagoda, the event transformed the naval premises into a one-stop health hub. The occasion was graced by the Commander of the Navy and Patron of NSVU, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.

Nearly 300 female naval personnel and spouses walked away with free consultations, clinical services, and laboratory tests, as the NSVU put women’s well-being front and centre.

The medical camp was powered by a dedicated team of Navy medical professionals from the Naval General Hospital (NGH) Colombo, alongside a group of visiting healthcare specialists, ensuring best care for every attendee.

Mrs. Anusha Banagoda personally engaged with the beneficiaries, applauding their attendance and extending heartfelt gratitude to the medical teams and support staff for their tireless efforts.

The event also saw the presence of the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara, Director General Health Services, Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe, Heads of Departments from the Western Naval Command, along with NSVU staff, officers, and sailors.
