Navy Seva Vanitha Unit’s flag blessed at Naval Flag Blessing Ceremony

Demonstrating deep reverence and devotion, the Sri Lanka Navy conducted the Naval Flag Blessing Ceremony and Kanchuka Puja at the Ruwanweliseya and sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi premises in Anuradhapura on 30 and 31 Oct 25, in view of its 75 anniversary. The events were presided over by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, along with the attendance of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Anusha Banagoda.

The Kanchuka Puja ritual saw a Buddhist Flag which was brought to the premises by a colourful procession, adorning the Ruwanweliseya. Meanwhile, in a symbolic gesture of faith and gratitude, the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit’s (NSVU) flag was also blessed during the Flag Blessing Ceremony.

The executive and committee members of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit and the staff of NSVU were also present on this occasion.
