Navy Seva Vanitha Unit brings dream home to life for retired Petty Officer

In a compassionate gesture, the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) has successfully assisted in completing the partly constructed house of retired Petty Officer WSP Silva, who served the Sri Lanka Navy for 22 years. The project, funded by the NSVU with a contribution of Rs. 1,364,124.61, marks another milestone in the unit’s ongoing efforts to support naval personnel and their families.

The newly completed house was officially handed over to the former senior sailor by the President of NSVU, Mrs. Anusha Banagoda, during a ceremony held 27 Mar 25. The initiative, launched under the guidance of former NSVU President reflects the organization’s commitment to uplifting the living standards of naval veterans and their families.

The event was attended by Mrs. Sujeevi De Silva, Mrs. Rajika Warnakulasooriya, members of the NSVU Executive Committee, Commanding Officer SLNS Thakshila, Captain Chinthaka Munasinghe, officers, sailors who contributed to construction work as well as Coordinating Officer and staff of NSVU.
