Navy Seva Vanitha Preschool sports meet held on colourful note

Following the directives of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs Mala Lamahewa the annual sports meets of Navy Seva Vanitha Preschools are scheduled to be held in respective preschools in 2023. The events have been organised to help children develop their physical abilities and sports skills. The annual sports meet of NSVU Preschool in Welisara got underway at the Welisara Hockey ground on 30th March 2023, under the patronage of the President of NSVU.

The proceedings of the event commenced by lighting the Olympic Torch, after the hoisting of National Flag by the President of NSVU. One hundred and twenty eight (128) preschool children showed off their sporting skills at annual sports meet which also featured a drill display presented by children. The President of NSVU and invited guests presented prizes and certificates to the children, appreciative of their efforts.

The Vice President of NSVU Mrs Udeni Kularatne, Executive Committee member Mrs Champika Silva, Commanding Officer SLNS Gemunu, Captain AMD Amarakoon, senior and junior officers, sailors and parents of the preschool children were also present on this occasion.
