Navy Seva Vanitha Unit conducts alms giving at Ruwanweliseya

The Navy Seva Vanitha Unit conducted an alms giving at the Alms Hall (Dana Shalawa) of Ruwanweliseya on the first full moon in January 2023. The meritorious act was conducted under the patronage of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) Mrs Mala Lamahewa for members of Maha Sangha including the Chief Incumbent of Ruwanweliseya, Ven. Eethalawetunawewe Gnanathillaka Thera, Chief Incumbents of Atamasthana and 55 Bhikkus undergoing Piriven education.

In parallel with this event, 25 children at the Mithra Children’s Home in Saliyapura were provided lunch as well as school supplies and other necessities for their education and day-to-day needs. The supplies have been made available by the Chief Incumbent of Lankaramaya Viharaya in Singapore, Ven. Dr Gunarathana Thera.

The Vice President of NSVU Mrs Udeni Kularatne, members of NSVU, Commanding Officer SLNS Pandukabhaya Captain KGN Ranaweera, Commanding Officer SLNS Thammanna Commander JMGB Jayakody, the Secretary and staff of the NSVU were also present on this occasion.
