NSVU enriches life of two family members of naval personnel with impairments

Going by an idea of the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, the organization helped enrich lives of two family members of naval personnel, in parallel with the International Day of Disabled Persons falling on 03rd December 2021.

Accordingly, a prosthetic leg was provided to the spouse of Captain (VNF) RPS Dharmasiri NVX 5215, as two hands and one leg of her have been amputated due to an electrical injury. Further, hearing aids were provided to the 11 year-old son of Chief Petty Officer SNWMS Wijebandara ED 39544, as the child has been noted with hearing impairment. Both these donations were made available at the request of the above naval personnel and the items were handed over by the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit at the Office of NSVU on 03rd December.

NSVU executive committee member, Mrs. Shyama Silva, Senior Supervising Officer NSVU Projects, Rear Admiral Sujeewa Senaviratne, Commodore Nishantha Amarosa and staff of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit were present on this occasion.
