President NSVU attends sacred relics and treasure-depositing for new Stupa at SLNS Barana

At the invitation of Commander Northwestern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathna, the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne attended depositing of 02 sacred relics and treasure at the new Stupa being constructed at SLNS Barana on 20th November 2021. The spiritual ceremony got underway in compliance with religious rituals and amidst chanting of Pirith by members of Maha Sangha.

Besides the President NSVU also joined offering of mid-day alms to the members of Maha Sangha. The proceedings of the event were held adhering to COVID-19 protocols due to pandemic concerns. Commander Northwestern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathna, NSVU Executive Committee Member, Mrs. Udeni Kularathna, Director General Administration, Rear Admiral Rohana Lelwala, Supervising Officer of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Rear Admiral Sujeewa Senaviratne, NSVU Committee Member, Mrs. Priyanka Senaviratne, Heads of Departments and Commanding Officers attached to Northwestern Naval Command, NSVU Committee Member, Mrs. Manoji Rathnathilake, Mrs. Nirosha Hitinayake, Mrs. Hasini Wickramasooriya, naval personnel attached to SLNS Barana, their family members and staff of the NSVU were present on this occasion.
