Inmates of National Institute of Mental Health, Mulleriyawa enthralled by the visit of NSVU

As part of yet another community service campaign of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), the President of NSVU, Mrs. Sandya Ranasinghe along with its members took time off to visit and spend time with the patients who are undergoing treatment at ward no-7 at National Institute of Mental Health in Mulleriyawa on 22nd August 2018.

Since carrying out complete repair work to the ward no-7, NSVU makes sure timely maintenance of the ward is done in a bid to provide hassle free environment for the inmates. Meanwhile, the members of NSVU also offered the patients with a delicious and nutritious lunch and the Navy Band made the patients entertained their melodious singing, following an idea of the NSVU President. This session was thoroughly enjoyed by all inmates and the initiative received high praise from the hospital staff. Subsequently, the President of NSVU and its Vice President, Mrs. Arundathi Jayanthi distributed prizes among the Director of National Institute of Mental Health in Mulleriyawa and hospital staff, in recognition of their untiring effort in taking care of poor inmates. The patients also received essential items for their private use on this occasion.

In return, the hospital staff extended their heartfelt gratitude to the President of NSVU, Mrs. Sandya Ranasinghe and all its members for organizing this event on a high note. The occasion was attended by officers and a group of sailors as well.
