Mrs. Thiruni Sinniah made inspections visits to the naval pre-schools in the Eastern, Western and Southern Naval Areas over the past few days upon assuming duties as the President of the Sri Lanka Navy Seva Vanitha Unit.
The NSVU President commenced her inspection with the visit to the naval pre-school at SLNS Tissa in the Naval Dockyard in Trincomalee. She was accompanied by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Travis Sinniah. After being warmly welcomed by the students, Mrs. Sinniah inquired about their health and engaged with them in friendly interactions. She also planted a tree sapling to mark her visit and took time to inspect the NSVU welfare shop as well. The Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Nimal Sarathsena, the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera, senior naval officers and members of the NSVU staff were also present on the occasion.
Mrs. Sinniah also visited the naval pre-school at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara. She was warmly welcomed by the students on arrival, presenting a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The NSVU President observed the students engaged in their educational activities. She also inspected the NSVU yoghurt manufacturing project as well as the NSVU welfare shop.
During her visit to the Southern Naval Command, the NSVU President inspected the activities of the naval pre-school at SLNS Dakshina. The students presented a beautiful hand-made memento to Mrs. Sinniah expressing their gratitude. She also placed her signature in the visitors’ book marking her first official visit. The Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna, senior naval officers and members of the NSVU staff were also present on the occasion.
The NSVU President was very much pleased with the progress made by the students of the respective naval pre-schools. She expressed her appreciation to the teachers as well as NSVU staff members for their dedication and commitment.
