Going by a concept of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne, a medical clinic was conducted for the members of NSVU and Officers’ Children’s Club, for the second time at the Welisara Naval Hospital Complex yesterday (8). The members of NSVU and Officers’ Children’s Club were immensely benefited by this medical clinic which was conducted by medical specialists from the Colombo General Hospital and Sri Lanka Navy.
Meanwhile the President took time off to look into the health condition of patients who are admitted at Welisara Naval Hospital due to various ailments. Moreover she distributed gifts and special mementos among the patients and medical specialists who involved in this magnanimous cause. The clinic was followed by a lunch hosted for the medical specialists and members of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit and Navy’s Medical Directorate offered a medical pack consisting vitamins and minerals for NSVU members. The occasion was attended by NSVU members, officers and their family members.Further, preschool uniforms required for the children of the Naval Preschools, were also distributed at this occasion. The uniforms were tagged with a concessionary price only to cover up its production cost. Moreover, 48 children who had successfully completed the 06 month computer course conducted by the Computer Training Centre at SLNS Gemunu, received certificates from Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne. The parents of the children extended their heartfelt gratitude to the President of NSVU for the progress made by the students in computer literacy.
