Making a visit to the North Central Naval Command on 26th and 27th December 2020, President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne inspected Seva Vanitha projects which are being carried out in the Command.
Mrs. Chithrani Gunaratne, the Chairperson of Defence Ministry’s Seva Vanitha Unit paid an inspection visit to Navy Seva Vanitha projects being implemented at Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Tissa in Trincomalee, on 12th December 2020.
As another social responsibility initiative mooted by President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, the bed-ridden sister of Transport Assistant HMP Gunawardana ED 106471 of Sri Lanka Navy was provided an electric wheelchair at the Light House Galley on 25th November 2020.
Going by an idea mooted by the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, a special programmes is now underway to distribute basic commodities to the doorstep of Married quarters where naval family members are residing in Welisara Naval Complex.
The President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne joined auspicious occasions to lay foundation stones for two (02) buildings proposed for the Seva Vanitha Yoghurt Project at SLNS Walagamba and Vidura in the Eastern Naval Command on 04th November 2020.
Inaugurating several Seva Vanitha welfare projects, the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne declared open a new building for a Yoghurt Project at SLNS Barana and laid foundation stone for a Welfare Outlet and a similar Yoghurt Project at SLNS Thambapanni in Northwestern Naval Command on 30th October 2020.
The President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne laid a foundation stone for construction of a new building, with the objective of expanding the services provided by the Seva Vanitha Flower Decoration Unit and Batik Centre, at the premises of Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Gemunu on 25th October 2020.
Following an idea mooted by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, the NSVU preschools of Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Gemunu, Tissa, Pandukabaya and Dakshina organized art exhibitions at respective preschools on 02nd October 2020. Further, the initiative had been set in motion in parallel with the World Children's Day celebrations on 01st of October, aiming to hone art skills of the NSVU preschool children.

Navy Seva Vanitha Unit and Navy Welfare directorate have sponsored for equipment and books worth over Rs. 01 million, for the use of Defence Services College on Malay Street, Colombo on 14th September 2020.
